Her keel is of lead, something over 36 tons in weight. Woods used include Shelburne oak, white pine, teak and ash. W. J. Roue, the famous designer of the Bluenose , was her architect. She is described as a 'palatial' yacht, with a price of $250,000.00 mentioned in a newspaper of a later date. The masts are for Marconi rig, the main being 112 feet long and the fore a few feet less. The crowd witnessing her launch numbered about 500.
